Illyana Alexandria Nikolaievna Rasputina, also known as Magik, is a Marvel Comic character first appearing in Giant-Size X-Men #1 (May 1975) as Colossus' younger sister. However, she truly developed into Magik as seen with her mutant powers in Uncanny X-Men #160 in 1982.
During the Bronze Age of comics, Illyana was kidnapped and taken to Limbo, a demonic dimension, where she aged rapidly and learned sorcery. She forged the Soulsword, a powerful weapon that disrupts magic, from a portion of her own soul.
As a member of the New Mutants, Magik struggled to control her dark powers and maintain her humanity. She possessed mutant teleportation abilities, allowing her to travel vast distances and dimensions. Her experiences in Limbo profoundly shaped her personality and destiny.
